The sun’s out, and the city of Norman is shining. The arrival of spring brings an array of new area happenings. From medieval jousting to musical extravaganzas, these events will set the stage for what’s sure to be an amazing summer.

FEB. 23, 6 TO 8 P.M.

This fun event hosted by NormanNEXT is the perfect opportunity for you, young professionals out there. Complete with vendors, food and live music, it’s quite the talk of the town. Medieval Fair

MAR. 31-APR. 2, 10 A.M. TO 7 P.M.

Hear ye! Hear ye! If you haven’t been the Medieval Festival of Norman, you’re in for a treat. Exhibits, arts and crafts, vendors, games — not to mention the ginormous turkey legs. This event features entertainment for the whole family. Performers bring the time period to life through reenactments, dancing, and the ever famous knight’s joust. Tell me more.

Norman Music Festival

Apr. 27-29, 

In the mood for some groovy tunes? You’d be surprised at the many talents that await you at Norman Music Fest. Lined along Main Street in some of Norman’s hottest venues, it’s a great way to meet people and connect over good music. Some of the festival’s previous headliners include Ra Ra Riot, Portugal the Man, Of Montreal, Horse Thief, Deerpeople and more. And hey, did we mention the event is free? Learn more.

If those three events don’t tickle your fancy, don’t you worry. One of the greatest things about living in Norman is that there’s always something to do! Take a stroll over to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History for some one-on-one time with the dinos. Or, if you’re a bit of an art lover, the Fred Jones Museum might be up your alley.

And for all you runners, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, Lake Thunderbird is the place to be during spring. From fishing and boating to nature trails, you’ll find something to keep everyone in the group entertained.
